I attended UNM before and just got readmitted. Do I have to attend orientation again?
If you attended orientation in the past, you are more than likely a returning student.  You may complete your orientation online with TNT Click (/returning/thingstodofirst/tntclick.htm)

I attended orientation a few years ago. Do I have to attend again?
If it has been more than 2 years since you attended Orientation, then you need to take refresher course by completing an online orientation program, TNT Click.

Can I see an academic advisor before I complete my online orientation?
You can see an Academic advisor before or after completing your online orientation. It is your responsibility to see an academic advisor before registering for class.   If you see an advisor before your orientation, it is important to tell your advisor that you are a returning student who will complete the orientation online.  Otherwise an academic advisement hold will prevent you from registering for classes until you complete orientation.

Why is Orientation mandatory?
Because we want you to succeed. Even though you have been on UNM campus before, many things have been changed in the last few years. The orientation will help you familiarize with new services, so your first semester back can go smoothly.

What do I need to sign into the online orientation?
Here is what you will need:
• UNM ID number (9-digit number that came in your Admissions Letter—sometimes referred to as Banner ID)
• Your Birth date, month, and year
• Your email address you regularly check
• To create a password (just for this registration system)

Why should I take a Placement exam before orientation?
Your Academic Advisor will tell you to register for classes based on your ACT/SAT scores or your course credits. If you want to take placement exams, take them before seeing an academic advisor so your advisor will be able to place you properly.

What is a Language Evaluation?
If you are planning on taking language classes, you need to take a language placement exam called an evaluation. The evaluations are administered for foreign languages such as Spanish, French or German. Look at the Foreign Languages page for more information.
Students taking Spanish are required to take the Spanish Evaluation with the Spanish and Portuguese department (you may be exempt if you transfer Spanish credit).

When will my orientation hold be removed so I can register for classes?
The orientation hold will be removed the day after you complete the online orientation, after 10 a.m.  If you complete TNT Click over the weekend, the hold will be removed on Monday after 10 a.m.

How long does it take to complete the online orientation?
Completion time may vary from student to student.  TNT Click is rich with important information, so you should take the time to read through it carefully. Plan on spending a minimum of 90 minutes, but you can spend more time exploring websites and .pdf documents linked to TNT Click.  Remember, you can always go back to finish TNT click later if you don’t have time to do it all at once.

What should I do before school starts?
• Get a Lobo Card
• Purchase a Parking Permit (if needed).

Do I have to pay for TNT Click?
No.  There is no fee to complete the online orientation.

I’m a UNM staff member.  Do I have to go to orientation?
If you are a staff member, we understand that you may be familiar with some important information about UNM.  You can complete TNT Click, our online orientation, to fill in any gaps in your knowledge about important UNM services and departments.  Employees that work directly with students may know more than the average employee, and should contact our office for some alternatives.

I’m a UNM Branch Student.  Do I have to complete an orientation?
We understand that as a branch student, you have had some exposure to UNM.  You may complete TNT Click, our online orientation, to satisfy you orientation requirement and to fill in any gaps in your knowledge about important UNM services and departments on main campus.

Where can I get a UNM Catalog?
You can review the catalog online. A free catalog may be picked up from the UNM Registrar’s Office.  The first copy is provided free of charge, but there is a $10 fee if you need to replace it.  Replacement copies can be purchased at the UNM Bookstore.
