Lobo Reading Experience

The Lobo Reading Experience was created as a common academic reading program at the University of New Mexico (UNM). The program has been created for all students to offer a common reading experience that fosters a sense of community while promoting reading as an entire campus and a city-wide effort that promotes literacy. This year the book is being integrated during New Student Orientation where students will be asked to read the book before attending orientation, during which students will be given a “mock” lecture based on the book.

For the 2017-2018 academic year, UNM is in the process of selecting a book. Please check back for updates in May 2017.

All freshman students are required to participate in this program and be part of our campus-wide reading experience. Please plan to purchase the book through the UNM Bookstore during New Student Orientation Summer 2017. Please come prepared to make the purchase.

Incoming freshmen should expect to be ready to begin their academic journey by reading this book in preparation for orientation and your first year academic experience. Click here to learn more about the Lobo Reading Experience or visit http://www.unm.edu/~lre/.
