Family members and other guests attending the Family Connection program at UNM will be taking part in a two-day program. If you live out of town and need overnight accommodations, you can choose to stay on the campus at a residence hall, or at a hotel where the Orientation Program has arranged special rates.
Residence Hall
Residence hall rooms in DeVargas Hall are available for guests at $20.50 per night, per person. This is contingent upon availability. This hall is a suite-style residence with two or three bedrooms that have two single beds with a shared bathroom and a shared study area. There are two sets of suites per floor. Each room is furnished with linens and a computer outlet. Television sets are not available in DeVargas Hall. Please note that married couples might be placed in separate rooms. Guests with special needs will be housed in a different facility.
Students are housed in the Student Residence Center. Children under 12 years old are not permitted to stay in the halls. Please indicate on the reservation form if you wish to stay in the residence halls. You will receive confirmation of additional nights along with the student’s confirmation information.
If you signed up for additional nights and arrive before your Family Connection session date, check-in to your residence hall room at the SRC (Student Residence Center) front desk. The SRC front desk is open 24 hours. (Orientation staff is not available outside of program dates.)
Off-campus accommodations
Stay in the spacious and immaculate Hyatt Place Albuquerque Airport. The hotel offers many amenities such as complimentary breakfast, spacious guest rooms, 42” flat panel HDTV, free high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access, and a free shuttle to UNM. Make reservations at least two weeks prior to your visit and ask for the special “Lobo Orientation rate” of $89.00 a night.
Located less than two miles from the Albuquerque Airport, the beautiful Hyatt Place Albuquerque Airport is ideally situated three miles from the University of New Mexico, and minutes from downtown and the Nob Hill shopping district.
